November 25- The Big Freeze!

Well today I found out about letting my tractors parking brakes freeze ...... That required thawing my big frozen air-brakes, after pulling like a mad-man on both doors, which had frozen themselves shut.
Wow, after 2 days of rain, the temperature plumeted in hours to well below freezing, and just like that my truck was frozen solid!
The rain had soaked the brake shoes, and with the parking brakes applied, once those suckers froze, even 425HP had a tuff time breaking that icy grip!
The door seals were frozen to the door frames, and I nearly had to brace my foot against the truck side-wall to pull them open.
Luckily, I did manage to pry open the doors, fired the engine, and after rocking the truck gently back & forth in 1st. & reverse, got everything freed up!
No more parking brakes appled in freezing wet weather.I BLOCK / CHOCK the wheels from now on!
