And I got the TV/ video installed, very solid installation...no way it'll ever fall-outta there.

Just before sundown, ......

Same time just different angle, and cleaner than original posts!

Here is a early evening shot of the Diesel Gypsy, notice the french version of the word Motorhome. This shot was for the insurance company.

This is a passenger side view of the Volvo VNL610 as it sits right now. Yup.......it's not very pretty.......I haven't even washed it! Lots to do, wheels to polish, forward bed to build, fenders to install.....lots to do.

Coffee anyone.....?

Here is that Totally renovated interior I was blabbing about......it almost looks new, and it smells clean & fresh. I accomplished that buy pulling out the carpet & rubber floor mat, and stem cleaning, then we steamed cleaned the velour finished walls & ceiling. We also had the two seats rebuilt (6 way air bladders), and dry cleaned the seat fabrics!

A different angle of the cabinet I built to house the fridge & sink.

This is a view of the VNL610's Driver accomodations. The steering wheel is tilt & telescopic.

The helm of the "Diesel Gypsy"....

This is a look at the ammenities behind the drivers seat. Just a microwave, and a 3 drawer module. The module has a little pull out table as well. Check the next pic for that...

This is a view of the dash from the lower bunk. It took a while to get this old truck looking this new.

This is a Fridge & sink cabinet I made. It fits nicely behind the passenger seat.

The Diesel Gypsy

This is our new toy! It's a 1998 VOLVO VNL610.
We spent a good part of the 2004 summer , driving around inspecting various similar trucks until we found this one.
The search in itself was a hoot.
As we are not, nor will ever be "truckers" the truck salespeople found our keen interest in these highway tractors a little strange.
It is not yet considered "normal" to use one of these trucks for personal use.
Our reason for purchasing, and then customising this truck, is to haul our fifth-wheel recreational vehicle.

The pictures and posts that will appear here is a rough documentary of our project.
Feeel free to send us you comments.
