These Days...I'm a dirt farrmer....

Yupp...been waiting since sometime last October to get the weather needed to start this process.

It seems easy, but the raking, and spreading of soil is way tougher that it looks.

Happy Easter to ME!!!

Mark was nuts enough to loan me his beautiful 2005 FLHTCU .....my 1st. ride ever on a dresser Harley on Wednesday, March 20th.

After the Rally, March 19th

At the Flying J in Selome, Ga. getting fuel & dumping....
So, we all hit the road at 9:30 and headed north, back to our little property.

Mark Dinard and his wife & friends joined us as well.
Faye, and Don.

The American Coach Claire fell for in Perry,Ga.

Well, here are friends out in front of this really great coach..Charlie, Yvonne, and Debbie. The salesman is working me hard to buy....LOL!

The Rally in Perry, Ga.

Claire kinda fell head over heals for a New Motorhome....not sure I could ever really afford one of these though..

Perry Georgia, March 12-18th

Lots of trucks, and friends there boy...GREAT FUN!!

The Rally in Perry Georgia...Caption this!

So now we're here...Sumpter Oaks, in Bushnell, Fl.

March, 06-09 /2008

This place is aptly named...check out these huge oak trees all around us....

Our lovely heated pool

Claire & I sat by the pool nearly every day.
There is a hidden bonus to sitting by this pool...inside the club-house is a big refrigerated beer keg.
The honor system asks only $.50 cents a 12oz. cup!

Harley buddies visit in SKP Resort

Ahhh...today was cool.

Two of my northern buddies, on their annual Daytona Beach Bike Week vacation, decided to pay us a visit here.

It was hot & sunny, and Terry brought me my long over-due payment!

A c ase of cold-ones.

So we sat around, told lies, got a sunburn, had a few, and then they roared off..

Man I gotta get me one of those machines!!

Terry & Kerry......glad you came by.

March 1st, 2008

We met this charming couple as they were out for a tour of the Pioneer Days County Fair,

They were quiet, but friendly....

Here is a model for my future cabin in SC.

Yup, the A/C is basic...you just throw the front and back doors open at the same time..
Cooking is outside, on the Frontiers-Man Range-Master cook-set.

Pioneer Days, March 1st. 2008, Zolfo Springs

There was such a diverse, and interesting variety of antique tractors, engines, and other cool stuff..

Most of the engines on display, and fully operational, were Hit-Miss engines.

Pioneer Days, March 1st, 2008 Zolfo Springs

Here I am, checking out this mechanical wonder..
The red one shows how these simple engines used basic radiators to cool the combustion chamber...the water jacket got cooled water from the remote tank, which had the hot weater delivered to the top of the screen, then it dripped down into the tank, cooled by the air passing through the mesh screen.

Here are some interesting machines of bygone days, washing machines, and ice-cream makers.
Clik the pics for full size view!

Ok...this place was REALLY interesting....Yesteryear, I mean technology from the late 1800's through the depression era early 1900's.

I was truly drawn in by these big & small mechanical wonders...
The 1st, and last pics here are from a 1918 Case tractor, 4cyl. engine, mounted cross-wise in the frame....

Just have a look.

Still here in Wauchula, SKP...

Did I mention how great it is here...Claire loves the fruit on the back yard trees, and even the sunsets from out dining table are treasures to her...

Have a look..
